1. Hand and Foot Position:
Hands: Place your hands on the floor slightly wider than shoulder-width apart. Your fingers should point mostly forward, or slightly outward.
Feet: Extend your legs back, resting on the balls of your feet. Your feet can be together or up to hip-width apart.
2. The Plank Alignment (Starting Position):
Body Line: Your body should form a straight line from your head to your heels (the “high plank” position).
Core and Glutes: Brace your core (imagine pulling your belly button toward your spine) and squeeze your glutes (butt muscles). This prevents your hips from sagging or rising too high.
Head/Neck: Keep your head in a neutral position, looking slightly down at the floor about a foot in front of you. Your neck should be aligned with your spine.
